some words about my creative process...
AM I THE RIGHT FAMILY PHOTOGRAPHER IN Los Angeles FOR YOU?
With a background rooted in editorial photography and visual journalism training at ICP in New York, I embarked on a professional journey capturing stories for magazines and newspapers. Over the years, a personal shift occurred as I became a mother, leading to a profound transformation in my photographic focus.
Seven years ago, I transitioned from documenting the world through a journalistic lens to intimately capturing the beauty of family life. Specializing in family photography, I have discovered a deep passion for preserving genuine and unfiltered moments. The magic of family portraits lies in the authenticity—the raw, imperfect, yet profoundly meaningful connections that define our lives.
For me, the essence of photography is about capturing these real, fleeting moments that become cherished memories. Document those "big little memories" creating timeless images that families will treasure forever.
I would love for you to feel that your family photos with me go beyond the usual expectations. They’re about capturing the essence of your connections right now, in this moment. The raw, the real. They’re about preserving your family’s story for the future. I really treasure my background as a visual journal photographer to keep these moments alive.
Before each family session I’m here to answer any questions you might have. I know that being in front of the camera is not easy for everyone, but I promise I keep my sessions short and fun.
- Help with the planning, styling and location selection before our session.
- Once we're booked, I'll send you welcome guide with everything you need to know for a great family photoshoot session, including assistance with styling & a questionnaire to get to know you and your family a bit better so that together we will be able to choose a location that best suits you and your likes.
- After our photo session, edited digital high res files will be shared within 1 week via online gallery for easy viewing. Each package includes a minimum of 30 high res jpeg files.
- Custom shop option for convenient printing, ordering and creating albums, framed photos and single fine art prints will also be offered.
Your first payment and signed contract holds your date on my calendar. Your remaining balance is due before your session date.
BEFORE & AFTER EACH SESSION
Yes, you are welcome to print the images on your own. If you do this, I recommend making sure that the printer does not color correct the images (many automatically do this.) I also recommend looking for a high quality printer. While 10 cent prints sound great in theory, the cheaper printing quality often won’t do your images justice. Paper quality, color correction and a handful of other factors play a big role in the way your prints turn out. This is one of the reasons why I LOVE offering prints to my clients.

Can I print the images on my own?
q:
While I don’t guarantee an exact number of images, I will make sure I capture your family thoroughly. Most families should expect to receive at least 30 edited images following their session.
A:
How many images will I receive?
q:
I guarantee that your images will remain in an online gallery for at least a year. While your galleries may stay up longer than that, I cannot guarantee it. Once your galleries have been delivered, I highly recommend downloading all high resolution images to several devices. Consider investing in a portable, waterproof external hard drive.

How long will I have access to the images?
q:
While turnaround times can vary by season, I aim to deliver all images within one week of your session (2 weeks top)
A:
WHEN will i receive my images?
q:
You are absolutely welcome to share images on social media. To ensure that our work is properly represented, I ask that you refrain from any edits. I also appreciate image credits and tags as they help me to continue to grow as a business. Instagram: @biglittlememories_la

By default, the creators of images always own the rights to the images. However I’ll give you a release to use, print and share your images. The only thing you won’t be able to do is sell your image as a stock photo. I won’t do this either without your written permission.

The beauty about RAW and REAL is to capture genuine moments. Kiddos will dictate the flow of the shoot. The most important thing is for parents to come openminded and and give them the chance to be theirselves. If we show them a relaxed and playful atmosphere, hopefuly they will be too. I’ve 3 kids, so I get it! :)
A:
WHAT HAPPENS IF THE KIDS ARE NOT QUITE "IN THE MOOD" for a photo session?
q:
I do light retouching on all of my images. This means that if there are any glaring objects that should be removed, I’ll remove it. Larger edits (such as removing tan lines, wrinkles, etc) require more time and would require me to add additional editing hours and skills. If needed I can reach out my retouching partner for an extra fee.
A:
Will you retouch our images?
q:
I typically plan about 40 to 60 minutes for sessions. While I likely don’t need to be shooting this entire time, this does give us the flexibility for location changes, rowdy kids and time to warm up. If you feel that you need to keep the sessions a bit shorter than this, please let me know and I can work around what you feel might be a comfortable time for you and your family.
A:
How long should we plan for the session to take?
q:
I totally understand that weather can be a bit unpredictable, so we will reschedule to another day that works for us all. If the weather changes drastically right before we start, we'll assess the situation together to determine the best course of action.

WHAT HAPPENS IF THE WEATHER IS NOT GOOD?

I don't provide raw files as they are an unfinished product. Part of my service is to carefully select and edit the best images to reflect my style and vision.
A:
CAN I GET THE RAW FILES AFTER THE SESSION?
q:
Although it is not necessary, you will never regret getting your hair and makeup professionally done. If you are going to do your own, matte colors photograph best in natural light.
A:
SHOULD I GET MY HAIR AND MAKEUP DONE?
q:
Yes! At least up to 5 people can be included in the session. If you're planning on adding more family members to your session, you might need of think of an extended family session. Reach out to me for pricing.
A:
CAN GRANDPARENTS BE IN THE SESSION?
q:
As soon as possible after your session is complete, I’ll back up your images and begin the editing process. Unless there's a holiday closure, you can expect to receive your edited, digital images between 1 and 2 weeks after your session.
